Not Forgotten
Delighted to see that someone had thoughtfully placed a poppy on Romsey's memorial soldier and horse statue.
The statue, standing close by the town's cenotaph in the Memorial Park is a tribute to the troops and 120,000 horses which were trained in the town for battle on the front line in the 1914-18 World War.
It was unveiled in July last year by HRH the Princess Royal, and the statue of a lone soldier and horse sculpted in bronze resin by equestrian artist and sculptress Amy Goodman who lives in the Test Valley presents a striking reminder of the town's history and its part in that conflict.
And with the poppy, plus a couple more in its harness and saddle were a poignant part of Remembrance Day in the park.
