Having followed her music for nigh on thirty years it was great to get a chance to see Kristin Hersh at the Brudenell in Leeds tonight, as she tours promoting her latest album/book, Wyatt at the Coyote Palace.

Part songs, part spoken word, she held us captivated with her storytelling and mesmerised by her guitar playing.

In an era of digital downloads, Kristin has found new ways of of giving tangible weight and beauty to her albums, the last few being bound in fine hardcover volumes: musical chapbooks collecting and presenting her songs/poems.

The consummate independent musician.
