View at the truck stop
In Nebraska...we ate breakfast and while Jerry topped off the gas I let the dog run in this huge field which was between the parking lot and this row of wonderful things..a church, a house with the light on, a windmill and a barn..all bathed in the pinkish/orange of early morning (6:30am). The moon was big and bright at this time also in the wide open space.
Day two of traveling home..almost 12 hours on the road today..took a side trip to see if we could eat lunch at Pawhuska, Oklahoma at the Pioneer Woman's new deli/mercantile. Pawhuska is a little town with limited parking area for a big diesel truck towing a little Jeep Liberty..plus the line was out the door and going down the block. In addition to those problems, it was very warm (I miss the cool mountain air already) and we could not leave the dog in the car in the heat. So we ended up eating at..McDonalds! What a let down! But the dog loved her single burger minus the bread! Traveling with a dog really limits how long you can take for lunch or supper!
Another day and a half of traveling to get home.
