An outhouse hollyhock

I bought the seeds in the New York Botanical Gardens and they have just decided to flower now. It said on the packet that in days gone by these hollyhocks were grown around outside lavatories so that refined ladies did not have to ask for directions when nature called.Mine just grow around an urn!!
