Boots were made for

They are not my good boots now but they used to be. I sometimes have three or four pairs on the go at any time and in my mind have a pecking order of good to less good in terms of deterioration. It is odd when the day arrives that your best boots are not as good as your second best.

Despite high mileage and accellerating disintegration they, the pair pictured, remain very comfortable and supportive. If we are planning walking on gravel trails and have no need of hill gripping tread or the ultimate in water repellency then they do just fine.

And that way my really good boots will stay like that for longer. You can't just be wearing good boots all the time.
