Rantatunneli

The tunnel was opened today! It runs between the Santalahti and Naistenlahti districts of Tampere and it's Finland's longest road tunnel - 2.4 km long. It took 3 years to build it and the tunnel got ready 6 months before the due day. 

I drove through it when went to my drawing class in the evening. In the middle of the tunnel is a light installation on the spot where the tunnel goes under Tammerkoski rapid. That's a great idea!
