Undercurrents
Always there, always doing something different, invisible except when leaf-fall marks them out.
The top picture is from 9 days ago when I wondered how there could be such a long straight line of leaves in the river, several hundred metres long and over a metre out from the bank.
The bottom one is today’s: some leaves caught in clusters by the bank while others resist the attraction and head on down to London.
I don’t even think about what the water’s up to most of the year.
