Glasgow Street Art

Was in Glasgow today with the Wednesday girls.  We started at Glasgow Green and visited the People's Palace, then headed over to St. Andrews in the Square to have coffee and scones in The Source and have a look at the church upstairs which is very historic.   No longer used as a church, it has regular ceilidhs and exhibitions and is very interesting.

From there we visited St. Andrews Catholic Cathedral and the garden commemorating the Italian citizens of Scotland who were interned during the war and sent to Canada.  Their ship was torpedoed with loss of all lives.  The men had no chance as there was no time to release them from their captivity in the holds of the ship.

Then we headed up to the City Chambers in George Square, where we had booked a tour of the building.  It is a magnificient building and very opulent, the Glaswegians of the day must have been very rich, the wood carvings, the Italian marble, the tiling, it is all terrific.

However, my blip for the day is of the street art, which I took as we walked through the city streets.  I liked it!

After our tour we went for a snack and some wine, before heading home.  We know how to live!!!!.
