Ironbridge Gorge
Not the real thing, but a cool model of the period when the industry was at its height. It’s in the Museum of The Gorge in the village and is 12 metres long and shows all the mines, furnaces, lime kilns, canals and infrastructure of the time. We had always wanted to go and decided to spend a couple of days there before going to the Lakes for a weekend’s orienteering. We got two annual passes using Tesco vouchers so it cost us nothing, (apart from the original shopping that is), and we’ll go back there in the spring.
