Sunshine
on one side of the hills, at least.
There is a wire, just visible on the right. That connects us to a pole, thence to a cabinet, and thence to every visible IP address on the planet or beyond.
Impressive work by OpenReach: the fault was agreed with BT on Thursday and fixed by the end of Saturday. Cracked insulation is what I suspect: the line drops coincided with the start of rain, and as the engineer wisely said, water, copper wires and high-frequency signals don't mix well. 50 Mb/s down, 10 up. Even on wet days. Thanks, team.
