Owl in a box

Had arranged with Nicoiseanne that we would go to Fowlmere RSPB today, yesterday was told that Thursdays is work party day and not to expect to see much, that turned out to be true. We started in our usual way with a coffee stop, Anne persuaded arm behind my back to have a cheese scone which was lovely.
At the reserve we come across another photographer who told us that there was an owl in a nesting box, which we dully found and photographed so we both left happy that we had a blip. Got back to the car just before the heavens opened and drove to the garden centre for a finishing coffee.
