Losing A Link

Uncle Alf my Fathers elder brother and the oldest of the six children passed away at 2015 last night.
My brother Gary rang to tell me the sad news today.
I remember Uncle Alf and Aunty Cath well from my childhood, the prolonged stays with my paternal grandparents meant I came into regular contact with them and as the eldest grandchild I often went to cousins birthday parties.
I went to school just down the road from their house in Hersham and was always welcome.
I'm ashamed to say that I haven't seen my Uncle Alf since my Fathers funeral in April 2008 but I will be there on the 28th to wish him farewell.
