Night Of The Perigee-Syzygy.
Amidst scudding clouds blowing in from the west, Orion's Belt points to the Moon, setting serenely over Leith's rooftops.
This was a so-called supermoon, where the Sun, Earth and Moon are aligned to give us the full phase, coincident with the closest point in it's orbit - indeed, the closest to Earth since January 26, 1948 with the lunar disc 14% larger than normal.
