BBC Children in Need

The Rickshaw Challenge came through the village today as part of the annual BBC Children in Need appeal. For those who do not know, the BBC raises money each year to support children's causes throughout the UK - millions of pounds. For the Rickshaw Challenge a group of young people cycle from Scotland to London over a period of 8 days raising money by collecting en route of by people texting donations. ( so far £1.5 million )This year they left Jedburgh last Friday and will arrive in London in time for the big Children in Need show. A total distance of 470 miles, so they average 50-60 miles a day, cycling in relay. When they passed through our village 18 year old Ebony was riding. All the riders are living with disability, trauma, or life-limiting illness. It makes me feel grateful for my own good health.
