Repair

This is a quilt that belongs to my wife's half-brother. His mother made it for him about 45 years ago. It has been well loved and well used. It was very tattered and in bad shape. My wife and her cousin set about restoring it. He wanted the star preserved. Originally it was hand quilted. They took it apart and took out all the quilting. They put Pellon on the back of the star where the pieces were thin. They replaced the white blocks between the stars and put a new border and back on it. It was then machine quilted. Now it's ready for more years of loving.
