La journée des peintres

I'm determined to blip on the day today, so even if this photo isn't the best, it's what I've chosen. Who knows what time I'll get home ...

Today was the annual painting competition. The artists can choose anywhere in or around the village, but invariably the majority of them end up parked in the square outside our house. They paint all day and at 6 pm the winners in the categories of paper and canvas are chosen by popular vote. There was quite a good turnout this year, and several pictures I liked. Later, there's a meal on the square, to which all the painters are invited. Unfortunately, it involves tripe :( This is considered a better choice for a hot day than cassoulet.
