Pemberton's Parlour
I had intended taking a canal bridge shot today but as I was walking back into the city centre I spotted the light shining through the trees on Pemberton's Parlour on Chester city walls. I decided this looked better and decided to save the bridge for another day.
Pemberton's Parlour is a red sandstone crenellated tower named after a former mayor of Chester. It was originally a circular tower, straddling the city walls, but was rebuilt as a semicircular tower during the reign of Queen Anne. It was again rebuilt in late Victorian times due to the constant vibration of nearby trains.
