Shorter days
I got up early this morning to find myself confronted by a rather beautiful day. I recorded my radio show, fed the kids as they emerged from their slumbers, went for a swim, made lunch, and then dropped the little ones back at their mum's before heading south to collect the Minx.
We were driving to Cardiff, this afternoon, and I'd hoped to do the first part of the journey in daylight, but it gets dark so early now that by the time we were approaching Birmingham, our world was all taillights and headlights. But we travelled on regardless, arriving in Cardiff pretty much on schedule.
Having dumped our stuff at the hotel - Jolyons: would recommend (except the Minx didn't like the bathroom door) - we proceeded out into the night to find somewhere to eat. We passed the Holiday Inn, which had a curious look to it, rather like an Edward Hooper painting (so I took this photo on the way back), before finding ourselves in a more populated part of town where we discovered another Indian Street Food place, different from the pace we went to in Manchester last weekend but also very good.
