Stay Away!

I went for a walk through the park this morning to find a nesting duck that I'd been told about.  There were none to be found but I met a lady along the way who told me about some unusual ducks at a different part of the creek.

This afternoon I took a walk there, and I didn't find the black and white ducks she was talking about but I did find a mother mallard and her babies.  They had been sitting on the bank in the sun when I inadvertently disturbed them.  She rushed them away into the water but never let them get into the 'classic' line.  She kept them bunched to make darned sure she stayed between me and them.
