Port Angeles Waterfront Sunset

We were so pleasantly surprised by the good weather we had on our little Olympic Penninsula trip over the past few days!    It began driving in the rain to drop off the hooligans at their "hotel" doggie camp and then as we journeyed across the sound on the ferry the sun began to come out and shine on the waters!  We stopped and had drinks and pastries at a Bainbridge bakery then went on to Port Angeles and settled into our hotel.  
  We discovered a wharf to walk around and a super seafood hole in the wall called theJig and Lure that served up fresh delicious seafood!  We ended up eating one lunch and a dinner there and received a free blueberry crumble too:)  
     We did a couple relatvely easy hikes to waterfalls, had the free soup and cookies offered up by the hotel's "happy hour", visitied nearby Lake Cresant which is an aqua gem that we've stayed many times in past at , drove part way up to Hurricane Ridge but the road is closed until December due to snows and not being cleared until then, explored a few shops with R really liking the old timey hardware store....actually me too, and we saw too many large pick ups sporting Trump/Pence signs and Crooked Hillary ones...ugh.  Rural beauty and rural pent up feelings of powerlessness....ones that with Donald's latest appointees are probably not going to do much to really help the powerless out.  While we truly savored the time away, the refreshing natural beauty all around, the sense of worry we have has not been eased with his continued surrounding himself with people whose views border on fascism.  While Bannon claims he is only an economic nationalist his view are those of avowed White Nationalists and he is openly supported by them and the KKK.  Trump is building his cabinet this week, and it’s unfathomable that he’s considering Senator Jeff Sessions for Secretary of Defense — or any position, really. Sessions voted for the invasion of Iraq, then voted against funding services for Veterans, calling our hard-earned benefits “entitlements”. We need someone who respects our sacrifices, not Jeff Sessions.
