The Art of Patience

As I was doing some clearing out today, I found some contact sheets I made about 18 years ago when I lived in Aberdeen.  I did several photography courses at the local college where I learned to process film and print photographs - in both black and white, and colour.  I loved it - there was something magical about being in the dark room watching your images emerge.  Until you had your contacts printed you had no idea what your images were like.  If you look carefully you may be able to see some of the photos are of the rocky rugged coastline, standing stones (of which there are lots in Aberdeenshire) and of some of the granite buildings in the city including Marischal College (I lived in a flat overlooking the college for many years).

A day of two halves - a frosty sunny morning, then wet milder afternoon.  I managed to do some gardening tidying up leaves and pruning, and to get the garden furniture packed up and in to the garage.  I spent the afternoon sorting out paper work and other such things.  Oriental style salmon with rice for dinner this evening - it was just the thing to warm me up.  This evening I am watching a programme on Channel 4 about some of the archeology along the British coastline - I'm enjoying it.

I hope you have all had a good Saturday.
