View of London
From Hampstead Heath.
We're back in the UK so soon after our last visit to see some lovely friends, their new house and their new baby (who isn't really a baby anymore) who is absolutely gorgeous and making me a tiny bit broody!
Me, hubby and Luke started the day with a parkrun while Antonia and the four kids watched, or rather played at the playground which was very convieniently located at the start/finish of the run. I was in two minds whether to run as my throat is sore and my chest has been tight but I love these events so I thought I'd just take it a bit easier, which was a good job as it was a super hilly course and very muddy underfoot!
After our run we had a fantastic explore of the Heath and went and had cooked breakfasts at the cafe at Kenwood House. I've never been to Hampstead Heath before but I fell in love with it today as it is such a stunning place with great trails for running and fun! Olivia found loads of trees to climb and at one particularly brilliant tree she turned to me and said: "Mummy, this is my idea of Paradise. I love climbing trees!"
Later on in the day when we'd all changed and washed the mud off ourselves (we were covered) we took the three older kids to play Pirate mini golf before going up to the upper floor of the golf driving range to hit a few balls. It was the first time for the kids and they absolutely loved it. Hubby and Luke (one of his best mates from his university days) were also in their element as they've played a lot of golf with each other over the years. Olivia has been asking to play proper golf for a little while now so I guess we're never going to hear the end of it now that she's had this little taster!
