I went to another NCWA (Northwest Corner Woodworkers Association) class today, on bandsaw use and maintenance. The instructor used to teach high school shop classes and he's also a talented wood carver.

The photo shows him demonstrating a gauge for measuring the saw blade tension. This is the engineering approach -- most people use a less precise method.
