North Pole in a box

Today has been over cast but not actually raining so we started by clearing up all the dead leaves fallen in our garden. One clear garden, one jam,-packed wheelie bin!
After that- and washing Arthur who decided that playing in the muddiest bits was a great idea, we settled down to get this half-term'sò homework project done. There were 2 parts to it. 1. Make a star made of 2 squares overlaid and decorate it in silver and white. 2. Make a scene in a shoebox of a polar region.
The boys did the stars mostly by themselves but the majority of the polar region was done by me and directed by William. The homework note said make it a family project and parents should get involved. I am not sure what this teaches the children but there you go. Anyway, with bits from William and a picture from Sam and ideas from Rick and my handywork we ended up with this(see blip). One polar region in a box.
