After the last in the current series of inspiring and challenging talks this morning at church, and the following family worship time, my lovely husband and I had a treat of an afternoon to ourselves while our children were kindly looked after by the Americans (see, I told you it was good having them home!).

It was far too cold so we ditched the idea of cycling and the half hearted idea of running, but it was beautiful, so we went instead for a walk. We climbed Millstone hill which is the fourth peak of the bennachie range and dubbed 'Bennachie's Quiet Side", not that the other sides are exactly picaddily circus.

Back in town, when the sun went down, we went out for drinks and some coffee with our cheeks rosy from the fresh hillside air.

Later, when the littlest was fast asleep, the rest of us sat by the fire and watched the spectacle that is Planet Earth 2.
