Cypresses

Yet another walk in the vines! We missed most of this last year because we were away, but they do seem particularly splendid this year. It was hard to capture in the mixture of bright sun and cloud -- see extra for another attempt. I won't tell you how many photos I deleted. It was 60.


We had an enjoyable book group meeting yesterday evening; one of the books we discussed was my choice of Barbara Vine's The House of Stairs. She is such a clever writer, crafty in every sense. I was pleased that most people enjoyed it and even the person who didn't changed her mind somewhat after listening to a perceptive discussion.
