Crested Pigeon

I went onto the deck in expectation of getting a Rosella - they are so shy, so I was prepared for a wait. Then our pair of Rainbow Lorikeets came down, and I thought I'd get a better shot of them.

Finally a trio of crested pigeons came in, who are also incredibly shy, and started a courtship dance. It would have been lovely to get one fanning its tail feathers, but that happened in a crowd of twigs and just wasn't an option.

Finally, finally, this one posed on its own, and you get to see the lovely wing colours, and pink blush around the neck. The colours are always muted, but much stronger during the courtship season.

I do need to do some shoulder exercises - this camera and lens is heavy!
