Adlington Hall

A wonderful day visit to Adlington Hall for a private tour of this stately home. The Legh family have lived there and developed the estate since before 1066. Fascinating, with a good guide, and in excellent company.

It's well worth a return to see the gardens. And the use of two oak trees which are proven to date back to 880 as the basic props for them great hall are particularly memorable.

We followed this with an excellent Christmas lunch with all the trimmings.

A thoroughly grand day out.
