Kanafeh
During Ramadan, the streets are filled with wonderful sweets that are only seen at Festival times.
One such sweet is Kanafeh. I have never tried it, but am fascinated at the big machines installed on to the streets. The pastry is fed through the funnel, emerging as string like threads onto the large, rotating hotplate.
The dough made from, mozarella cheese, sugar and water is then left to cool and served with a syrup of your choice, honey etc.
Ramadan has ended and today is the first day of Eid.
