Careful watch

"Mama, Monkey's sitting here to watch me ready for cuddles straight after". 

She woke up early today and got herself breakfasted and dressed. She had a bath, did some piano. Somehow we ended up rushing, yet again. She was probably not quite going to make the door anyway but then fell off her scooter and definitely wasn't going to make the door. She was scuffed up rather than cut or hurt but didn't really like going in to school wet, dirty and miserable. She enjoyed dance class at school today though. I picked her up and we came home for a comparatively gentle evening. She wanted to do some of her "learn at home" book and chose a bit of maths. There was a section with subtraction work. It gave her sets of two numbers and said "what's the difference between these numbers?"... My darling, darling girl went so carefully through each question... "17 is a 2 digit number, 8 isn't..... 4 is smaller than 12...." She came up with a wonderful set of characteristic features of each pair. It didn't once occur to her to do the subtractions. Some work on terminology to be done there! 

She's got a clarinet exam on Sunday. She did a really long practise tonight, of her exam work on both clarinets, of some Christmas carols and of a nice arrangement of "Colours of the Wind" that B found for her. She's decided she wants it to be her next song & dance solo piece! 

Haha, turns out she spent this time last year on carols...
