Surprise unexpected birthday present: a yo-yo from Dicon and Leila...Ben loves it and is already quite good at it. It's quieter than ping pong or football against the walls, so we're all happy.

I slept so badly last night it was ridiculous...Storm Angus was howling around the house, making the chimneys wail and the windows creak. I think I got to sleep at about 3.30 and I've been really quite tired all day as a result.

Tuesday was otherwise absolutely normal. I seem to have lost a batch of marking, though. I accused Marc of chucking it in the recycling but a search of the recycling bin proved fruitless so I had to take that back. What am I going to tell the students?????
