Craig Gill - RIP

It was with great sadness that I learnt today that Craig Gill, drummer with the legendary indie band Inspiral Carpets, has passed away aged just 44.

Mr J, my cousin Paresh & I had the good fortune to meet Craig when we did The Smiths music tour around Manchester just last February & stood in front of the Salford Lads Club re-enacting the iconic inside cover of 'The Queen is Dead' album.

Craig was a wonderful guide & a really lovely guy. Memories of that tour are one of my most precious - fulfilling a life's ambition to visit the sites that shaped the music of my all time favourite band.

RIP.
