Demolition Jaws

If I had taken this picture last week you would have been looking at the wall of the old shopping centre.  This monster machine is currently eating up the walls of the old centre before the new shops are built.  It looks like progress is being made after many years of talking and planning.
 
I had a look at the plans on the council website and it seems that part of the plan is to re-direct the course of a local river so that the car park can be extended.  At present it runs in a large almost circular loop, think they intend to give it a shortcut.
