This tiny little character, was  so very nearly crushed under my large boot. Was out for an evening stroll (and Blip hunt), and only spotted this Smooth Newt in the nick of time. It may look like a very rough surface that it's clambering over, but this is the middle of a fairly smooth road! The Newt was only about two inches (50mm) long. I suspect it is a young female.

I helped her safely to the other side.

There was a stunning sunset, way off in the distance. I brought the wrong lens to capture that. Though there's just a hint of it visible.
