Back in the churchyard

The village of Frampton lies just three miles south of Boston, Lincolnshire, in the heart of the fens. But it is a little oasis, full of elegant Georgian brick houses and majestic trees. (The seven bedroomed house in the extra is yours for a mere £650,00!).

We spent a couple of hours walking round the village recording plants, before heading to Boston to visit Pete's Mum, who's in the Pilgrim Hospital again, this time with pneumonia. As usual we started at the church, and this is Pete circling the boundary, with the misty fens in the background. We added a lot of species to this little corner of the county - the most surprising find was a lane with a high diversity of elms and ferns - really not expected in this part of the county.

This walk was definitely the high spot of the day. It took us nearly forty minutes to find a car-parking place at the hospital, and although Molly is much improved and hoping to be home soon, the hospital itself is really rather depressing. To cap it all, I took a wrong turn on the way home, and we had to negotiate the back streets of Boston in the dark. Thank goodness for the mobile phone, which enabled us to find a route out!!
