Frozen
I felt a chill all through the night and knew by the sound of scraping coming from outside that it was colder than yesterday.
I ran down to the compost bin at the bottom of the garden and had to kick it open.
I changed the settings on the central heating to ensure the pipes won't freeze and it would be warm for my return.
After stepping into the garden to capture the contrast between the beautiful Frozen rose and the sun streaming down in the background I should have really made a connection but I didn't.
I made a flask of hot warming soup to have for my lunch as I knew a shop bought sandwich wouldn't cut it.
It's surprising then that I walked out of the house without a scarf, gloves or hat. My coat was a flimsy lightweight affair that was keeping nothing warm and I swear was even attracting the moisture from the air.
Aahhh thank goodness for an old fashioned glass lined Thermos Flask.
My girl had the nerve to tell me she had arrived in Uruguay safely just in time for breakfast on the beach. Sometimes I dislike that girl, sometimes she makes me feel so green with envy.
Cos baby it's cold outside - I do love that song, it makes me feel all dreamy.
