Cold?!
Edinburgh is a very cold place! This morning Ann said, 'Molly, I'm going out for lunch today so I'll take you for a good run about now because by the time I get back from lunch it will be getting dark so your afternoon walk will have to be a trek around the streets on your lead.'
I went to Braidburn Valley Park for my run about and do you know what?................ It was so cold that I didn't even attempt to do any splish, splash, sploshing in the burn. However, I did do lots of rolling around on my back which has led Ann to the conclusion that she doesn't need to buy me a coat. After all I wouldn't be constantly rolling around on my back on the frosty grass if I was cold would I?
Then I had snooze time while Ann went out for lunch. First she met her friend in Waitrose so they could have a free coffee then they went to buy some de-icer because even by 11.30am the car windows hadn't thawed. It's a long time since Ann has driven in icy conditions and she's not really very confident. Last night she went to work at 6pm and had to scrape all the ice off the car, she came home at 11pm and had to scrape all the ice off the car and the roads were white with thick frost.
Anyway Ann had a lovely lunch catching up with old friends that she taught with more than 30 years ago although it was slightly scary to find out that one of their sons is now almost 50. She remembers him as a spotty teenager! Obviously Ann is the youngest of the bunch!!!
And just to keep all you lovely Blippers in the picture...................... One of the reasons why we wanted to spend the winter months in Edinburgh (instead of where we normally live, which is 'warm Cornwall') after refurbishing the flat that Ann owns here is............................ Ann wanted to test out how efficient our new heating system would be in the winter.
…..............Thought it might take a few months to test it properly........................ However is it really going to get any colder than this? At the moment we're toasty warm when we're indoors. Yay!!!
And if anyone wants to book our St Ives place for a winter break before Christmas check it out here. It's booked for Christmas but we've reduced the prices for the rest of Nov/Dec.
Weather app is telling us it's 10c and sunny in St Ives tomorrow.
And now we're all warm and cosy indoors. East Enders, Corrie, & The Apprentice beckons. And then I guess I'm going to get absolutely frozen when I go out for my bedtime wee??
Toodles. xx
