Thanksgiving Dinner - British Style
Today was the US celebration of the Pilgrim Fathers' arrival in their new land and the day to be thankful for the country we live in. Recent events have raised a few concerns about the freedoms celebrated, particularly for those who belong to minorities. As a minority resident in this county which still has many fine features, I trust that the current inhabitants will be reminded that they are all immigrants and recipients of fruits of a land that was once not their own. As a sop to our British heritage, we had watercress soup, levain made bread (see extra) and pesto encrusted lamb - main photo with apple crumble pie and custard to finish. Enjoyed having Dan and Ruth a friend of Leyna's over to celebrate.
If you are interested there is a backflip for yesterday.
