look into my eyes, look into my eyes
Just when you thought there would be a break from my "critters at the window" series..... Donald Pheasance Jnr shows up on the patio this morning. He seemed to be trying to hypnotise me into throwing out handfuls of sunflower hearts. It worked!
When I finally tore my eyes away I went off to perform my daughterly duties for the oldsters. I'll not hold my breath but StepM was a little bit better. You know she's feeling better when she has a pop at you within a minute of walking through the door. I let her off this time as I was genuinely happy to see her up out of bed and looking better. We did subsequently have a laugh and I scored some more brownie points.
I was pleased to see my Dad looking chipper too. The better she is, the better he is.
On the way home I dropped into one of my favourite shops for buying cards and quirky gifts. To my surprise they were handing out small glasses of champagne to all customers today. Even though I was driving I thought a little glass would be safe ;
in retrospect not my best idea having eaten only a banana and two shortbread biscuits up to that point
5 minutes later that little tipple had gone straight to my head and I proceeded to swish a whole display of bracelets on to the floor THEN as I bent to retrieve them I managed to head the matching necklace display to the floor. Further chaos ensued when another equally tipsy customer rushed over to assist me, not realising that her coat toggle had hooked on to a rack of scarves...
Fortunately no damage was done and everyone thought it all very funny, including the staff. Although I am guessing they might think twice about plying the customers with alcohol again.
Of course I ended up spending a small fortune in there so maybe they did have the right idea after all..
Made it home without further incident.
