Watching and waiting

There was lots of activity at the feeding station in the nature reserve this afternoon,  Perhaps the sunshine had brought out the birds to stock up on fuel food after the awful recent weather.  This little chap was waiting for a space on the fat balls!
It the "Christmas Lights Switch On" here this evening when, by tradition, most of the population emerge from the warmth of their firesides to have a few minutes chat with people they haven't seen since those balmy days of summer and then hibernate again until Spring.
