on the way to work #13

my first blip this week due to a combination of appalling weather and long hours at work. This is our parish church, St Alkmunds and war memorial, it is unusual in that it is set away from the village but near the river bridge and on a route for pilgrims many moons ago.
Whilst a church here is mentioned in the Doomsday book todays building dates back to the 14th century. It's more recently the place that Brian Clough was laid to rest.
