Tower Hill steps

The weather today has been very odd, continually misty then sunny and quite humid. Did quite a bit of gardening and cycled to a couple of carboot sales. My blip today is in town and shows a flight of granite stairs in St. Peter Port known as the Tower Hill steps. In history, Tower Hill is one of Guernsey's darker places as it was a place of execution. Between 1560 and 1640, 44 people were burnt at the stake there for witchcraft !
