Beckmann at the Metropolitan Museum

We visited the Met Museum today, above all to see Max Beckmann in New York, a superb show of Beckmann's paintings which reside in New York, as well as numerous others with a connection to the city.  A stunning experience, with a very poignant element:  Beckmann died in1950 from a sudden heart attack  walking to see the self-portrait you see here, which was in an exhibition at the Met.   The extra shows the gallery with the two great triptychs in New York hung  together--from the Met and MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) respectively.
