Geronimo!

If he could, that's what Caley would be shouting here.

While he loves his ball he can become distracted easily by an interesting smell or a stick he finds. It's frustrating to look round and see he is carrying a stick instead of his ball. By the time you notice, the ball could be 500 metres back along the route we have taken. However, he responds  well to the command "BALL" or sometimes preceded by a swearword. In fact the command is often issued with a single arm in the air so often that the gesture alone without the vocals can be sufficient.

He responds as though it is the most important personal challenge and he invariably runs in diagonals to pick up the scent. Once collected the return pace is blistering and I knew what was coming next. There is an easy low broken gate ten paces behind me but he hurtles towards the fence. He takes off about three yards before the fence and still clears it by about three feet.
There were lots of photos taken on Maol Ruadh in lovely morning light but this the choice for today.
He got another walk in the afternoon at Leanachan.
