the tills were ringing

A duller morning than the previous few but there were jobs to be done. I spent two hours outside tidying the garden and cleaning windows ........... the rain on Monday night had left them filthy.. 

I only got as far as the garden centre in the afternoon, just for a browse but managed to come out with a calendar and pack of Christmas cards. That meant joining a queue to pay. Only then did I fully realise how many people there were and how much they were buying.
