Day 332 of 366 - Coventry Register Office!
The image for today was taken in the City Centre of Coventry. The view is of the Grade II* listed Cheylesmore Manor House. The building which is now used as Coventry Register Office, was originally constructed in the 13th century. It has the distinction of once being the only Unfortified Royal Palace outside of London. The Manor House and all of the then surrounding grounds of Cheylesmore park once belonged to Queen Isabella (the wife of King Edward II). It was later passed on to her grandson Edward the Black Prince. Over the years the palace was left to ruin due in part to Coventry's lack of Royal support during the English Civil war. The Gatehouse along with two parts of the wings on either side (as seen) are all that survive of the Manor House.
The photo was taken using the app ExposerGL on my iPhone 6.
First I used the app Snapseed to edit the photo. I Cropped the image and applied the Tonal Contrast filter. I then boosted the Contrast, Saturation, Ambiance and Warmth. I used the healing feature to delete the alarm box from the front of the building. I also decreased the Highlights and added a little extra Structure and Sharpening. Next I used the app Mextures to apply the formula Windansea by Justin Halbert. I then used the app DistressedFX to add the Stirred overlay and the Lade texture. Finally I used PhotoToaster to add the Tone preset, the Stark FX and a Medium Dark Vignette. I then applied the Old Paper texture and the Antique frame.
