The light beyond -

Earl Crag.

We walked up to Lund's Tower from Sutton this morning, quite a steep pull in some parts. The sun which had been glorious an hour earlier had disappeared and a heavy cloud hung over the Crag. There was even a bit of drizzle whilst we were up there.

Looking from the Crag, across the moors, you could see the light under the cloud, as seen here, beyond the wall and gate.
We walked on then to Wainrights's Pinnacle before descending back to Cross Hills. (Extra)

At this point the sun returned and accompanied us all the way back along the road to the Dog and Gun where we had a very pleasant lunch. Thank you very much Corinthian and Mr C for organising the walk and taking me.
