Shelleys

So named as this property in the High Street at Lewes Sussex
belonged to the Shelley family and Percy Bysshe Shelley the
poet lived there. It was built as an Inn in 1522 and the original
Inn sign is housed in the Anne of Cleves museum in the Town.
The property is well known for being haunted which has been
confirmed by an investigation in 2011. It is also mentioned in
Andrew Green's book "Ghosts of Today" published in 1980.
The 2011 investigation report is published on the web and
focuses attention on three rooms in particular. Unaware of
such matters until I had vacated, I spent two very restless
nights in one of these rooms last week.
