Fieldfare

Went to pick up M from Kingussie and saw flocks of redwings and fieldfares flying back and forth over the road by Loch Laggan.

They come over from Scandanavia every winter and strip the rowans. I didn't realise what a delightful noise they make as they move through the trees. Not the best of photos, but trying to get one was worth the experience.

Fieldfares do not stay on any branch for very long it seems. Hurumph!
