Female House Finch and a Sunflower Seed

She would not tell me her name, and she seemed a bit embarrassed with me taking a photograph of her cracking sunflower seeds, but she surpressed that embarrassment and enjoyed the seeds.

The wind is blowing fiercely here in Chattanooga this evening, and rain is expected...  we have not had rain for more than two months. So, if rain comes tonight, it only confirms the success of my the Cherokee Rain Song and Dance I learned more than 60 years ago as a Cub Scout, and performed in the back yard late last week as a last ditch effort to attract the rain.

Wonder of Wonder...  aren't memories wonderful??!!
